Empowering Your Journey to Authenticity and Success

But what is coaching?

Coaching is a practice aimed at helping individuals identify and achieve personal goals, overcome challenges, to enhance and improve various aspects of their lives. Coaches collaborate with clients to facilitate self-discovery, set goals, and create actionable plans to realise and reach those goals. Unlike therapy or counselling, life coaching focuses on the present and future, rather than addressing past issues. Specific goals can be focused on as well as a more general holistic general change.

Coaching sessions are usually on a one-on-one bases, either in person, over the phone, or online. Coaches use a variety of tools and techniques tailored to each client’s needs, aiming to inspire motivation and support positive personal change. If you are seeking guidance in achieving specific life goals or navigating transitions, a coach might be able to help you unlock your potential and achieve a more fulfilling life.

But what is NLP?

NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming is an method that involves understanding and using language to remove barriers and blocks to help reach goals and remove blocks.

It is an approach to enable the understanding human behaviour and communication. Exploring the relationship between neurological processes, language, and behavioural patterns, NLP offers tools to individuals and professionals which can be used for personal growth and communication, helping to change thought process and behaviours. I embed NLP into sessions.

Breaking down the components of NLP

N is for Neuro: This is the neurological processes as in how the brain work. It emphases the nervous systems role in managing communication and experiences.

L is for Linguistic: This is the linguistic or language aspect. It explores how language used influences thoughts, behaviours and experiences. How the words choices influence and affect mental states, interactions and communication with others.

P is for Programming: This is how we organise and structure our thoughts and behaviours. Consider if a computers programming is not working properly then the output will be affected.

By changing our language and thought patterns (our “programming”), we can alter our experiences and outcomes in life.

But what is hypnotherapy???

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique it uses hypnosis to help you deal with various psychological or physical issues. Hypnosis can be a powerful tool for personal transformation. It helps by accessing the subconscious mind, making it easier to change habits, overcome fears, and enhance motivation. Consider working with a certified hypnotherapist (that’s me!) to address specific issues such as anxiety, self-esteem, or procrastination.

During a session, you will be guided into a relaxed, focused state of heightened awareness, often called a trance. To understand how this feels, consider time of the conscious position between being awake and asleep, I like to call it the twilight time. This is when hypnosis taps into the subconscious and listens to the suggestions for change. There are three different levels light, medium and deep states. Consider these like sound or light waves, each having different benefits and uses for transformation work.

While in these stages, individuals are more open to suggestions working through issues like stress, phobias, smoking cessation, pain management, and behavioural changes.

The goal of hypnotherapy is not to control the person; this is not stage hypnosis or entertainment, and you will not be made to walk like a chicken or bark like a dog! It is to tap into the subconscious mind where deep-seated thoughts and habits are stored, to promote healing, change, or self-improvement. I use hypnotherapy alongside other treatments or as a standalone approach.
